How we tried to inspire the director/founder of the ANNA Shelter to stop providing declawing in her WELLNESS Centers.
We applaud all the tireless work that the director/founder, staff, and volunteers of The A.N.N.A Shelter do to help animals in Erie, PA.
Unfortunately The ANNA Shelter also performs declawing in their WELLNESS Centers.
As far as we know, there are only 2 animal shelters in America that perform and profit from declawing in their Wellness Centers/Clinics. The other one is the Houston Humane Society.
Declawing is inhumane, mutilating, and always harms the long term health and well-being of a cat.
The ANNA Shelter’s WELLNESS CENTERS no longer declaw cats, but 14 other vet practices in the Erie, PA area will.

The Animal Shelter Society in Zanesville, Ohio performs front paw declawing
We want to acknowledge that the Animal Shelter Society in Zanesville, Ohio does a lot of good work to help find homes for rescued animals.
Unfortunately they also perform declawing at the Animal Shelter Society.
DECLAWED AND THROWN AWAY AS SENIOR CATS
Yesterday afternoon I received an email from a nice volunteer at a shelter who told me that there was a 4 paw declawed Lynx/Siamese cat, 14 yrs old, that was surrendered by its cruel owner. I was asked if I would help to find it a home.
