In June 2017 this veterinary practice posted this photo of two kittens with bloody paws, who were just declawed and said on the caption, “When the two siblings were “fixed” and declawed the day before, but they don’t act like anything has happened…”
In one sentence he said he was, “impressed by my passion and dedication”, and that I’m someone who is working hard to help pets and do good in the world. He said that he hopes I see similar characteristics in him.
And in the next sentence he said he didn’t feel inspired but he felt attacked.
Hmmmm. How did I attack him?
I simply asked some questions in a private email as to why so many employees at his practice that is a AAHA, AAFP Cat Friendly hospital were saying that they are a high volume declawing practice and that cat owners could book a declaw surgery with him personally.
They are telling the NY legislators that they really, really care about cats and don’t want them to end up in shelters.
I thought the only way to really verify that they truly care about cats staying out of shelters is to see if they would personally help when you say that you are going to take your cat to a shelter for another behavioral issue that doesn’t involve declawing or making good money on toe amputations
There’s a crime being committed against cats in the American veterinary profession and everyone in the cat world is talking about. Well almost everyone.
It’s called declawing and it MUST stop. Soft paws and scratchers are healthy and humane alternatives.
Amputating cat’s toes and claws is torture and inhumane.
New York. May 4, 2016 President Obama has finally appointed a strong leader to the Supreme Court. “City the Kitty, although relatively small in stature, standing only about 16 inches tall, and very young, I believe he is the youngest Justice ever at only 7 years of age, is the most qualified candidate I have ever known,” said the President at the Confirmation Hearing. “He is extremely knowledgeable about our most pressing and important issue in North America today, cat toes.”
The NYSVMS isn’t hiding the fact that they don’t care about the welfare of ducks or cats. They are currently working hard to kill the bill in NY that would ban declawing and in 2013 they were the leader in killing a bill that would have stopped the inhumane force feeding of ducks for foie gras.
The same NY veterinary association that is trying to kill our NY bill to ban the inhumane procedure of declawing is having a tasting and tour of the Hudson Valley Foie Gras Farm.
I thought that veterinarians and vet techs cared about ALL animals and are supposed to be all about helping and healing them.
The truth. It’s time for a change. A few years ago I took up this important cause to help end declawing because I knew that so many of my fellow cats were being harmed and suffering. I asked my mom for her assistance. She had many creative endeavors going on, and she was quite busy with her photography career, but …
Wouldn’t that be amazing to see headlines from all these organizations and veterinarians saying things like…
WE UNDERSTAND TIMES HAVE CHANGED AND PEOPLE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE WELFARE OF CATS LIKE NEVER BEFORE. SO WE TOO MUST CHANGE.
WE ARE ANNOUNCING THAT WE WILL BE COMPLETELY HONORING THE OATH WE TOOK TO JUST HELP AND HEAL ANIMALS. WE WILL BE ADVOCATES FOR ALL ANIMALS AND LOOK OUT FOR THEIR NEEDS FIRST.
WE WILL STOP THE INHUMANE PRACTICE OF DECLAWING… COMPLETELY.
I have a serious and urgent subject to address and have put on my Feline Bureau of Investigation hat to get to the bottom of this alleged crime.
