Ban and end declawing.
As you will see below, declawing causes moral distress and negatively affects the mental health and well-being of many veterinary professionals.

Declawing IS animal abuse and veterinarians in most of the world don’t do it because of that reason.
Mr Howser was another one of the thousands of casualties from this brutally cruel and unnecessary amputation surgery.

May 4, 2016 President Obama has finally appointed a strong leader to the Supreme Court. “City the Kitty, although relatively small in stature, standing only about 16 inches tall, and very young, I believe he is the youngest Justice ever at only 7 years of age, is the most qualified candidate I have ever known,” said the President at the Confirmation Hearing. “He is extremely knowledgeable about our most pressing and important issue in North America today, cat toes.”
The unenlightened vets of the New York State Veterinary Medical Society (NYSVMS) have declared war on innocent cats. I found a memo that has officially started the battle over the bill in NY to ban declawing.
The NYSVMS isn’t hiding the fact that they don’t care about the welfare of ducks or cats. They are currently working hard to kill the bill in NY that would ban declawing and in 2013 they were the leader in killing a bill that would have stopped the inhumane force feeding of ducks for foie gras.
The same NY veterinary association that is trying to kill our NY bill to ban the inhumane procedure of declawing is having a tasting and tour of the Hudson Valley Foie Gras Farm.
I thought that veterinarians and vet techs cared about ALL animals and are supposed to be all about helping and healing them.
Yesterday afternoon I received an email from a nice volunteer at a shelter who told me that there was a 4 paw declawed Lynx/Siamese cat, 14 yrs old, that was surrendered by its cruel owner. I was asked if I would help to find it a home.
The truth. It’s time for a change. A few years ago I took up this important cause to help end declawing because I knew that
Rhoda A Hogan wanted 1/8 th of her estate to be a bequest of $125,000 for, “An organization to be used to publicize and educate the public about the cruel effect of de-clawing cats and to support legislation forbidding it.”
She wanted declawing to be banned in America and wanted her money to be used specifically for this purpose.
