AAFP doesn’t want you airing their dirty little secret because it shows how hypocritical they are.
AAFP thinks they’re authorities on what’s best for cats but when it comes to declawing, they’d rather throw cats under the bus than lose their precious membership fees.
The American Association of Feline Practitioners Are Masters At Hiding The Truth
The majority of American Association of Feline Practitioners’ (AAFP) Cat Friendly Practices perform declawing.
We did a recent survey of 156 Cat Friendly Practices in 10 states and found that 85% of them declaw cats.

Why are VCA Animal Hospitals in America Still Declawing Cats?
We reached out to VCA on their Instagram account on April 22, 2019 and asked them when are they going to stop declawing. A VCA representative told us that VCA stopped declawing a couple years ago. Surely VCA wouldn’t lie to us would they?

Multiple animal medical and welfare organizations have issued statements against declawing, including the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association, and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association. Let us start by saying that The Anna Shelter in Erie, PA. does a lot of great things for animals. We applaud them for this. Their shelter director, Ruth Thompson, has dedicated her life to saving animals.Unfortunately they also declaw cats at their West and East Erie and Corry, PA, Wellness Centers and they condone declawing for their shelter cats. The Anna Shelter is an Adoption Partner at Petsmart in Erie, PA. The manager at this Petsmart was asked if PetSmart is ok this the Anna Shelter declawing cats and condoning it for their shelter cats. He said, “Yeah, nothing against it.”
