The Story of Floyd and his Accidental Declaw
Meet Floyd, the rescue kitty.
He accidentally had his toes and claws amputated at a veterinary practice.
Instead of getting dewormed, Floyd got declawed.

This will be very insightful into the reasons as to why many of the influential veterinarians and board members of the New York State Veterinary Medical Society are working so hard to try to stop A1297/S5084, the bill that would protect cats from the inhumane and unnecessary procedure called declawing.
You will see different ways that they address declawing in their clinics and interesting perspectives that will make you understand better why they are spending so much money, up to $98,000 already on lobbyists, to try to kill this bill that is GOOD for the welfare of all cats.

You will be a BIG part of cat history if you help me with this important research and statistical study.
As you know, the Cat Protection Bill is on the table in New York so that’s the state I’m starting with now.

Mr Howser was another one of the thousands of casualties from this brutally cruel and unnecessary amputation surgery.

The same NY veterinary association that is trying to kill our NY bill to ban the inhumane procedure of declawing is having a tasting and tour of the Hudson Valley Foie Gras Farm.
I thought that veterinarians and vet techs cared about ALL animals and are supposed to be all about helping and healing them.

Wouldn’t that be amazing to see headlines from all these organizations and veterinarians saying things like…
WE UNDERSTAND TIMES HAVE CHANGED AND PEOPLE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE WELFARE OF CATS LIKE NEVER BEFORE. SO WE TOO MUST CHANGE.
WE ARE ANNOUNCING THAT WE WILL BE COMPLETELY HONORING THE OATH WE TOOK TO JUST HELP AND HEAL ANIMALS. WE WILL BE ADVOCATES FOR ALL ANIMALS AND LOOK OUT FOR THEIR NEEDS FIRST.
WE WILL STOP THE INHUMANE PRACTICE OF DECLAWING… COMPLETELY.

“I still was thinking it was a sprain so after she examined him, she found nothing but she told me I should declaw him!”

Dear Grumpy Cat,
I’m writing you today from my heart Grumpy Cat. I hope you will help us and save kitties from this senseless, cruel, and inhumane thing.

This is a short story about a beautiful little black kitty with a diamond studded collar, that came into my life.

I live in a country, where toe amputation aka “declawing” was never thinkable or a part of our culture. When I was confronted the first time with this procedure, I really got shocked. What? They do this, although they are donating thousands of dollars to save a burned kitten? How is that possible?
