I unfortunately had my kittie Chuckie declawed when he was a kitten. That was seven years ago. We took him to the vet to get his shots and the vet told me there was a new laser surgery that didn’t hurt the kitties at all.
Since I knew he was not going to be outside ever, I thought that what the vet said was true and let him do it. That was before I started reading about how horrible declawing was and I’ve felt so guilty about doing that to Chuckie ever since.
(From Forbes) My friends, many of you are writing me about this cartoon that is circulating on the internet. Just to clear up any confusion, here is the rest of the story. I reached out to this cartoonist, Kirk Anderson, and asked him if I could get some insight from him about his cartoon. […]
I want to ask some important questions.
So when Dr Sue says they are doing 50% less, does that mean she’s doing 8 declaws a week instead of 16? Or does that mean she’s doing only two paw declaws now instead of the four paw declaws her practice offered cat owners just a couple months ago? Or does that mean that she’s only 50% as good as she used to be at talking people into it?
Or does that mean she’s raised her prices by 200% so only 50% of her clientele can afford doing it? Or does it mean she’s paid off 50% of her laser so she’s not hocking it as desperately?
Or does it mean that she’s of the mindset that maybe she will not have have quite as bad karma if she slows down her declawing pace?
You will be a BIG part of cat history if you help me with this important research and statistical study.
As you know, the Cat Protection Bill is on the table in New York so that’s the state I’m starting with now.
Mr Howser was another one of the thousands of casualties from this brutally cruel and unnecessary amputation surgery.
New York. May 4, 2016 President Obama has finally appointed a strong leader to the Supreme Court. “City the Kitty, although relatively small in stature, standing only about 16 inches tall, and very young, I believe he is the youngest Justice ever at only 7 years of age, is the most qualified candidate I have ever known,” said the President at the Confirmation Hearing. “He is extremely knowledgeable about our most pressing and important issue in North America today, cat toes.”
The NYSVMS isn’t hiding the fact that they don’t care about the welfare of ducks or cats. They are currently working hard to kill the bill in NY that would ban declawing and in 2013 they were the leader in killing a bill that would have stopped the inhumane force feeding of ducks for foie gras.
The same NY veterinary association that is trying to kill our NY bill to ban the inhumane procedure of declawing is having a tasting and tour of the Hudson Valley Foie Gras Farm.
I thought that veterinarians and vet techs cared about ALL animals and are supposed to be all about helping and healing them.
I’ve decided to start bringing attention to a pitiful new trend in veterinary medicine that revolves around our cause to end declawing.
